The car: 1959 #256
Modifications: New GM Rochester Carb, Edelbrock aluminum intake, MSD  ignition, clutch fan,120 amp Alternator, Chisenhall air conditioning. Radial Whitewall tires.
Rick's first Vette Me as a freshman at Evansville college in Feb 1968 with my
nephew. I saved the money for the car while in the Air Force earning a
whole $178 a month including combat pay while in Viet Nam my last year.
Later on over the years I had a 65 air coupe and a 69 air big block coupe but in 1978 I went Vete-less for the next 22 years.
I always wanted another solid axle car and in 1990 I went looking for my next and last Vette. I finally found it in Mar. of 2000 via the Internet.

The car as Rick first saw it Rear view
After a trip to Conte's in New Jersey a deal was made and I was once again a Vette owner and once again in debt.
It needed some work but was it was a good solid car and worth the work and money it would take to make a very nice driver which I wanted.

Undergoing restoration Once again the garage has a "project" and I'm working that credit card to death to get those parts I'll need to make my dream a reality.
Complete interior, windshield restoration, new paint on the hood, trunk, soft top cover, some mechanical improvements, new weather striping, trunk restoration, gas tank and all new braided lines everywhere, complete hardtop restoration, reproduction soft top frame and canvas and its about
there.

Hard to beat a old Vette with the top down and those whitewalls taking you back in time to a kinder gentler world.
I love the car and the way it makes people smile and wave.
8000 miles the first year including two trips to Florida, Bloomington etc.
It is a driver and always will be.
